Why Manus AI Is Causing Such A Stir?

Manus AI was only released a couple of days ago, at the end of last week, and access is currently very limited since it is still in its beta phase. At the time of this writing, interested users can only access it through an invitation, and there is also a Discord channel you can follow for updates.

What we know so far is that Manus functions like a general AI agent. It is important to distinguish Manus from a typical everyday chatbot, as it offers capabilities beyond a standard conversational AI. As the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Manus AI, Yichao ‘Peak’ Ji, highlighted:

AI Chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, for instance, are human-led. You put in the text prompts, and then it gives you the answer. This is about taking it to a different level where you have what is called Agentic AI, which was seen as one of the significant trends in artificial intelligence for 2025.

Agentic AI is when the AI tool can act autonomously and can make decisions based on the information that is available to it. 

So, Manus lays out a lot of different use cases for this, such as analyzing financial statements, screening job applicant resumes, and even deciding or proposing where you should live based on your setting requirements in terms of how much you can spend, etcetera.

It seems pretty limitless at this point in time. This is also the first AI agent we have witnessed that can professionally complete a task thoroughly.

Currently, access to Manus is by invitation only. You can, however, try to submit a request on their website and provide a reason for wanting access. They are also releasing invitation codes periodically.

However, several glitches are being reported online, such as the platform crashing or displaying incorrect information. That said, it is still in the beta phase and not yet fully available to the public.
